Desert Sheild  (Ramses Rasul  x  Desert Sparkles)    Both parents of Ramses Rasul  were imported from Egypt, his sire being the famous *Ramses Fayek and his dam is by Seef.  Ramses Rasul has produced race winners as well as champion halter and performance horses.  Desert Sparkles is by Gai Marquis.  Gai Marquis was a Reserve Champion Halter winner and won multiple  Park, Formal Driving, and Formal Combination Championships.  Marquis is a son of Ferzon out of Gali-Croix, an Aristocrat boodmare who is by *Bask++

In 2008 Desert Sheild won a Top 5 in the Region 2 Country English Pleasure Open class under the direction of Kelly Elm of Arroyo Arabians.  Prior to that, Sheild performed well in the A level shows he competed in,both with Jim Porcher, trainer, and with his amateur owner riding, always finishing in the ribbons.  He won two Championships in 2006.

We bred Desert Sheild for the first time in 2005 and have two geldings by him, a purebred from our Polish mare Viva La Orla and a Half Arab from our saddlebred mare.    In 2008 our saddlebred mare produced a beautiful chestnut filly by him.  (See photos on Ranch News)  Desert Sheild is SCID clear and EAV Negative.  He is a Sweepstakes Nominated sire.  Shown below ridden by Kelly Elm at Region 2 in California and by Jim Porcher in December 2006.

Prior to acquiring Desert Sheild, we successfully bred our Saddlebred mares to two well known stallions.

Khaffire+ is a champion in both halter and performance, in the US and Canada.  He is a National Show Horse nominated sire.  We have bred to him 4 times. Two have shown very successfully at halter.  The youngest we still own and  have shown her successfully as a yearling.   All have continued to do well in performance.
